Point Broadband Completes Transition to 100% Fiber Network in Foley
FOLEY, AL (Sept. 17, 2025) – Point Broadband is proud to announce the successful completion of the transition from Riviera Utilities' cable internet to our 100% fiber network, bringing future-ready internet service to homes and businesses throughout Foley.
This upgrade underscores Point Broadband’s long-term commitment to Foley, bringing a robust fiber network that supports telehealth, remote work, and online learning. This improved access ensures residents can stay connected, productive, and supported well into the future.
“What makes this upgrade truly meaningful is that we’re investing in better infrastructure for our neighbors and providing support from a local team who lives and works right here in the Foley community,” said Nick DiPonzio, Chief Operating Officer for Point Broadband.
The company recently hosted a celebratory reception at Local and Company Food + Drink in Foley to mark the successful completion of this project. The event was attended by Foley Mayor Ralph G. Hellmich, the executive team of Riviera Utilities led by Chief Executive Officer Brian Skelton and Point executives and employees who played key roles in the project.
With the network upgrade now complete, Point Broadband is finishing up some final touches in the area. Any equipment that was left open to keep everyone connected during the transition is being safely closed and restored. With these improvements, residents can now enjoy faster, more reliable internet, including symmetrical speeds of up to 2 Gig for both uploads and downloads — making everything from video calls to streaming and online learning smoother than ever. The company thanks residents for their patience and understanding during this final phase of the project.
